The UBCon XXXII Idol Contest will take place at 1:00pm on Sunday, April 30th in the Student Union Theatre.

Submission Format:
Failure to abide by these rules will result in disqualification. All rules are for the safety and fairness of all contestants.

- Entrants must have a Con Badge.
- Contestants may only participate in one category with one song.
- The maximum group number is three for singing and five for dancing.
- The time limit per act is five minutes.
- We highly encourage songs to be idol related (Anime, Kpop, Jpop, Cpop, or Vocaloid).
- All performances must be covers so they can be properly judged (no original choreography).
- Songs are first come, first serve (no repeats). Claimed songs will be listed below.
- All convention rules (including costumes and weapons) will be enforced. These rules can be found here.
- By entering the contest, you agree to having photos taken while on the stage.
- All entrants must sign up before the contest and check in at Cosplay Registration the day of.
- The deadline to sign up is 4/27/23 at 10pm.
- No Vulgarity beyond a PG-13 rating.
- No messy substances are allowed on stage (glitter, anything wet, confetti, etc.) Anything thrown onto the stage must be picked up immediately after.
Submission Format:
- Audio must be submitted in either mp3 or m4a format.
- We will not accept videos or YouTube links.
- Audio must be clean. We cannot accept:
- Muffled audio
- Background noise
- Extra sound at the beginning or end of file
- In order to ensure the show runs smoothly, we can only accept submissions with correctly submitted audio. Thank you.

Please sign up by April 27th, as the judges will need to screen songs and choreography ahead of time.
